While I'm also not quite sure about the value of get/put-ing the contents
of a message file to another system... I suggest COPY MODE for peeking into
message files without "reading records away"...

Either use :FILE msgfile;COPY or else :FCOPY ... ;NOKSAM (if my memory's ok).

Lars (please try with a less valuable MSG file or make a :COPY of it)
