Steve,

Do you have NMB running such as the NMB Listener which runs NMBD, or under
INETD?  This job broadcasts the system name and shares that are set up on
the system in smb.conf.  WIthout it, you can map a drive if you know the
system and share, but it will not be broadcast over the Windows network.
