As we have SMTP/MIME mail available as at least one well-known
commercial solution (3k.com), I would prefer things that are not
yet available at all being done first. Two examples that come to
my mind are INN news server or LPR/LPD remote printing utilities.

I have to admit that I have no idea how complex or viable they are.
