Sounds like good stuff to me!

It would be nice if the dataset virtual filenames could be seen on the client
with ".IAUTO", or ".IMASTER", and ".IDETAIL" virtual file extensions. Or
something to let the client know what type of Image dataset it is dealing
with.

Actually , a good virtual file extension scheme for all MPE files through
Samba would be able to convey important MPE file label information to the
client. Uhmm, the gears are turning, what if? nah.
