We ran into the same problem with Qedit. It seems to happen if you use
an escape sequence to write a fixed number of characters to the external
device (slave printer in this case).

Ex. <esc>&p4d<y>W<character string>
where <y> is the number of characters in <character string>

It seems to be a problem with Reflection 5.xx. We could not find a
configuration setting that would fix it.

The only way we were able to make it work and not break anything else for
other versions of Reflection is by sending escape sequences to turn log
bottom On (<esc>&p4p11C), write the character string as shown above and
turn Off log bottom (<esc>&p4p13C). This seemed to force Reflection to
close the printer.

Since you are using a 3rd-party software, this might not help much.
The only thing I could suggest is call WRQ (or their representatives
in Australia) and ask if they know what is happening.
