I thought I had sent this to the list some time ago, but I haven't
heard any responses. I'll try once more in case the message didn't get
out the first time ...

We're looking at the possibility of encrypting data in selected fields
in one or two TurboImage datasets, and I'm looking for anyone else who
has either done this or knows of some software which would allow us to
accomplish this. I'm not sure this is the answer because of issues
regarding security of the routines and keys required to encrypt and
decrypt the data to/from the application, for example. However, I'm
open to suggestions from the list. Is canned software available which
can be incorporated into existing code or used in an XL?

Another possibility is the use of Vesoft's VEOPEN routine to secure the
databases, but I've never used it and, again, would appreciate feedback
from those who have or do use it.

Please feel free to respond privately, if you wish, and don't feel that
you have to reveal any proprietary information or state secrets. I'm
more or less looking for opinions re: feasibility and/or other
available options.

TIA,
