Srini,

My former employer is a Documentation/3000 (which is what I think you were
referring to) customer and I installed this prior to my leaving the
company (no, not so I didn't have to take the blame for the Y2K stuff
<g>), and teaming this for your code, and Adager for the database, you can
do a great deal of cleanup, in a short amount of time, with a minimum of
effort.

Doc/3K will, after indexing your source code, help you identify those date
fields in your programs with the tools in the product.  Adager will report
and transform data types/lengths, etc. in the database.

We got through a major subsystem with some, but not much effort, and the
cost was kept to a minimum in terms of person-time.  I highly recommend
the pair.
