Here's my input on the Year 2000 and MPE/iX:

It is a good idea to allow for date parameters to be specified with
two-digit or four-digit years. I'm all for less typing (two-digit),
but I can see some times when I would want to enter all four digits.

I can also see the merit of specifying a split year in a system-wide
variable.

QUESTION #1:

I suppose it (using 69 as the split year) would make things consistent
for those people who support both an HP3000 and an HP9000, but it
doesn't matter to me.

QUESTION #2:

Yes, VPLUS should follow (and be consistent) with MPE/iX.

QUESTION #3:

Defaulting VPLUS to century 19 seems to be short-sighted. Is this
an indication of HP's committment to VPLUS? Or am I reading too
much into this? I think VPLUS should follow the other MPE/iX
commands and split the years by default based on the split year
(either 50 or 69).

ALLBASE/SQL:

Not used here.

Just my opinions. Thanks for soliciting the input.
