I received the following from a co-worker, and it has 'urban legend'
written all over it. First of all, for those who aren't using it, Win 95
does not come with an anti-virus. And I would be surprised if [...]37_16Apr199714:36:[log in to unmask]

I have not personally tried to build this under MPE. I probably won't have
time to try anytime soon. But since Apache 1.2b8 builds under MPE straight
out of the box, Apache-SSL might even work. :-)

Apache-SSL is provided in the form of source patches. You will have to
recompile Apache. You will have to compile the associated SSLeay package. I
do not provide MPE binaries. You may have crypto legal problems depending on
which country you're in.

If you try and build Apache-SSL under MPE, please let me know how it turns
out. Thanks.

PS: SSL stands for "Secure Sockets Layer", which provides end-to-end
encryption/decryption for secure web requests (i.e. credit cards, etc).

Apache-SSL 1.2b8+1.4 is now available from ftp://ftp.ox.ac.uk/pub/crypto/SSL.

For those who've been on another planet for the last two years, Apache-SSL is a
FREE secure implementation of Apache, the world's most popular Web server.

Main features:

  *  Full 128-bit crytpo worldwide.
  * Free for commercial and non-commercial use.
  * Modules written for Apache should work with Apache-SSL.

Although my stated policy is to not support beta versions of Apache, I am
getting so many requests for 1.2 patches that I have decided to make an
exception in this case.

For those who prefer to use released versions, the existing 1.1.1 patches work
fine with Apache 1.1.3.

Cheers,

Ben.
