[log in to unmask][log in to unmask], 18 Apr 1997 08:33:49 -0700483_us-ascii We are using a LaserJet 5SiMX on our HP network. We are using the setup as
described in the 5.5 Communicator. Everything works wonderfully EXCEPT that
when I print a $STDLIST from a Query job, it loses it's page formatting just
before the END OF PROGRAM line. That is, it changes from landscape
compressed to portrait 10cpi (the default). Has anyone else had this
problem? I wonder if an escape E (reset) is being sent down the line when
Query quits. [...]44_18Apr199708:33:[log in to unmask]

Thanks for all of the input on how to setup a modem for pager dialing
with the HP3000. I do have it working now, and I'll share what
worked (for me).

HP3000/927XL, MPE/ix 5.0 patch 6, DTC-16, Hayes 2400
The software is "PAGER" from telamon, version A.01.08

The best advice was :
Don't use LDEV 21 (predictive support modem), use DTC port.
Don't use the pager modem for dial-out/in, use only dial-out
Don't use a modem port on the DTC, use a terminal port.

My NMMGR setup is:
Terminal type: 10
Record width: 80
Modem type: 0
Modem behavior: 0
Parity: NONE
Speed/Parity Sensing?: N
Reset HP terminal: N
Hardware handshaking: N
Allow :HELLO logon: N
NLIO device?: N

Issue command : REFUSE {port#}

The connection between DTC port and Modem:
   DTC        MODEM
   1   ---------- 1
   2   ---------- 3
   3   ---------- 2
   7   ---------- 7

Modem setup
C=0, S=0, S0=0
