Tracy Shepherd asked about applications to take formatted reports from
3000s to PCs. Several solutions are available to 3000 customers for making
their HP 3000 reports available in PC formats. The one that's at the front
of my mind today is Reveal from O'PIN Systems. Their Reveal C/S version
uses an embedded version of the Sheetmate software to translate spoolfiles
from 3000 to PC formats, and it also allows printing from a PC of those
reports. According to O'PIN's October newsletter, the C/S SmartViewer
option also "gives users the capability to preview reports in native PCL.
SmartViewer also allows the exact rendering of PCL5 reports generated by
software such as Jetform, Fantasia or Formation."
