Alan,

Isn't PowerPatch 7 available, now? You might want to update to that
one if it's stable - the Response Center can answer that for you.

The PowerPatch 6 installation guide contains a good overview of the
process in Section 1 ("Read Me First"): Chapter references depending
upon what you need to accomplish, a section called, "General Planning
Tasks", etc. Appendix G also contains checklists for a PowerPatch
update. We always follow those procedures prior to an update or
PowerPatch install.

I recommend that you fully read section 1, then read Appendix E to
understand how to back out of the update should you have problems from
which you can't recover for whatever reason. If you're only installing
a PowerPatch, Section 3 contains the detailed instructions. Also, be
sure of your site procedures for backup, creating a current CSLT for
your pre-PowerPatch environment, etc. You should also order any
reactive patches for MPE and/or your HP software products which have
been released after PowerPatch 6. Finally, depending upon your level
of support from HP, use the Response Center and or any other resources
at your disposal (PSS engineer, RCAA, etc.) to help you plan the
update.

We use a 957SX and it is at 50.0. I need to install 50.06 to
enable me to add a new product.
I have never upgraded the OS before. Does anyone have a general
plan or checklist that they go through before attempting upgrades?

TIA
Alan Wilson
