Over the years one appealing aspect of MPE was its "simplistic"
command/job control language. It is one of the reasons that it can be
used in a departmental or small company environment with absolutely no
data processing staff, yet it is still robust enough for the larger
"enterprise."

It is my sincere hope that Posix does not kill that. While there are many
great things to come to MPE lately due to Posix, has anybody here taken
the time to read some of the alphabet-soup commands that are being
suggested? It is easy to ask a clerk to type in STORE @[log in to unmask];*T;SHOW. I
get pretty tongue tied trying to get all the parms right with tar.

Bottom line is this. All of the neat stuff that you can download off of
the Internet is great, but will be out of reach to most users unless it
comes with a program that you can just run and it is self installing.
(Kind of like ADAGERFW, right Alfredo?)

Again, I am not trying to bash Posix, just put a little different spin on
it. And BTW, I also think that the direction of MPE is still bright.
Heck, not only did HP mention 6.0, but 7.0!!!!!
