Hello Friends:

I'm no apologist for Oracle, but it doesn't look like we have any proof
that anything's been dropped yet.

I've been in contact with HP on the Oracle issue, and they're working to
get Oracle to promise it will support MPE/iX with version 8. It's not
Oracle's policy to promise any specific platform support for 8 yet,
according to HP. Version 8 is mostly in beta right now.

Bottom line, for now:

-- Oracle doesn't want to talk yet about where 8 will be supported -- on
any platform.

-- HP is working to get Oracle to say something more specific.

-- We'll have more information soon from Jenny Hou, the Oracle on the 3000
manager at HP.

Bear in mind that sales rep information can veer pretty far from corporate
level plans. Has everything an HP rep ever told you about the 3000 turned
out to be mis-information?
