Yes you can and I have done it. You can use any standard serial printer.
An Epson FX-870, for example, will work. If you are doing this with a
Nova class machine use a printer type 18. A classic should be close to
the same thing. There are some instances where you could lose data.
This can be gotten around by useing a box to emulate the HP status
checking used with a printer type 26. The box we use is a PrintPoint. I
can give you more information on it if you would like. This is a simple
thing to do any way you slice it.
