I was reviewing certain socket calls in an attempt to get around
a current problem we're having with the Samba/iX port, and ran
across the following paragraph in the "Windows Sockets Network
Programming" book (1996 Addison-Wesley):
Page 307: TCP_NODELAY
" This default setting is optional for historical reasons. There is at least one
widely deployed terminal emulator application that depends on having
TCP_NODELAY disabled by default. If it is not disabled, it fails catastrophi-
cally when used to connect to some Hewlett-Packard HP-3000 mini-computers."
No other details about this event are given. Anyone have any ideas?
