Slight clarification:  the spooler displays the problem message, but:
a)  It's not a network printing problem.  You get the message after each
    copy of a file printed to any printer, not just network printers.
b)  It's a regression.  The spooler didn't change, but a system routine
    it calls did.  This routine now leaves a bogus error status on the PIB
    error stack that wasn't there in earlier releases.

You're correct that patch MPEJX99 fixes the problem.
