Here is a snippet from a job that regularly writes tapes for the IBM
boys. They've never complained, so I presume they work. Thing to watch
for is the scratch tape your'e writing to. If it originally was used for
one of these fcopy's, all ok. If it is an unlabelled normal friendly HP
type tape, all ok. If it carries a DIFFERENT IBM label, best you scratch
it the HP way (by storing something small onto it), otherwise you will
spend the rest of the day at the console fighting with the :recall, and
:reply commands (which I've never really understood when it comes to
tapes).
