Grrrrr. Archives created by MPE 5.5 tar are not readable by MPE 5.0 tar. Say
whatever nasty things you want about Unix, but a tar archive created under one
version of Unix will be readable by all other Unixes. ;-)
So my new method for distributing Apache/iX will be to use MPE 5.5 tar, but I
will include a copy of MPE 5.5 tar on my ftp site for 5.0 Apache testers to
use to unpack the distribution.
The revised instructions from the README:
How to obtain and install
-------------------------
1) Create the APACHE account:
:HELLO MANAGER.SYS
:NEWACCT APACHE,MGR;CAP=ND,SF,IA,BA,PH,PM;PASS=somethingsecure
2) Download and unpack the distribution:
:HELLO MGR.APACHE
:FTP.ARPA.SYS
open ftp.cccd.edu
