<< Summary --- If you right-click My Computer/Properties, and see:

     - Build 950: Win95 Gold Release (original release)
     - Build 950a: Win95 with SP1
     - Build 950b: Win95 with SP1 and OEMSR2
     - Build 950b with "USB Supplement..." in the Add/Remove programs, then
 WDM/USB is on the system.

These are the only Win95 releases made since it's first release.

 Hope this helps.

Joe misses some more stuff. Here is a copy of a private message which I
sent to someone on this list who asked me the question last week.

Check the version number of your system. Right-click on My Computer,
Properties and look at the data under system. If it says 4.00.950 you have
stock Win 95. If it says 4.00.950a, you have service pack 1, see below. It
is says either 4.00.950b or 951, you have Win 95 OSR2. For the last one do
not install anything else.

If you have stock Win 95, download and install SP1, plus the following
post-SP1 patches, KRNLUPD (8/21/96), MSPWLUPD2 (8/21/96) and OLEUPD
(11/26/96).

If you have SP1, verify that the 3 updates have been done
Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Update Information Tool

Check for UPD960202a for the Kernel Core component, UPD960426b for the
Password cache, and UPD960125a for the OLE32.

With these things on, you are good to go!

Kind regards,

Denys. . .
