I don't know about Southern College --- but I used both the Compaq
Luggable and before that, the Kaypro, which did indeed run under CP/M.
It
had a whopping 10M disk as well, 5.25 low density floppy and a 9 inch
screen (hence, why I have glasses now <g>)
It was equipped with the Condor RDBMS, Wordstar (the real old version<g>)
and Lotus 1-2-3. The basics to get by on. No modem :-(
Looking at this laptop of mine (top-o-de-line Gateway2000) versus those
days on the Kaypro and the Compaq, I think I'll stop complaining about
the
inconvience at the airport security checkpoints <g>
