Quiz is a product from COGNOS. It is the report language for their
package referred to as PowerHouse (Quick, Quiz, QTP and maybe another
product or two). Quiz was their first product and is now 15+ years old
(Yes, there have been *many* updates :) IMHO it is one of the best
products with which to write reports. It is not as fast as COBOL,
because it is not object code. This means it can be a little slower
than COBOL, but not a lot. More importantly, it means the report you
write must be run on a machine with Quiz.

It's been more than 6 years since I've actually written a Quiz report,
but in the 10 years prior to that I have written much more than 1000.
There are many on this list who write in Quiz often, or every day.
I've only answered your general questions -- the more recent users will
address specific questions.

Good luck,
