Greg,

We use JobRescue (JOBPAK) from NSD to accomplish this function. We had
some reliability problems with dialout notification in the early going
after migrating to MPE/XL some years ago, but it seems to have been
working correctly for some time, now.

I have noticed a few references in previous messages to people using
pagers & the like to receive notification from the HP3000 of problems
on the system. An example would be unattended backup which bombed -
the backup job would dial the pager & send a message (code number
maybe) indicating there was a problem. I am investigating setting up
some type of notification/paging system on our HP. I will be looking
through the archives of the mailing list, but additionally would like
like to hear from anyone else with comments or experiences with such
processes.
