We just noticed something odd;

Our OpenMarket web server job goes into a cpu loop eating up the entire
system about 1-2 times per day and must be aborted each time. (This is
a problem in itself which was reported early on in the port effort and
apparently never got fixed...) Anyway;

I've noticed (but never before recorded the evidence) that when the job is
aborted, it seems to always report only about 5 cpu seconds used:

 :run HTTPD.OMI.WWW;info="-consolelog /WWW/OMI/conf/httpd.config"

 httpd: server started (Open-Market-WebServer/1.1 built Apr  1 1996 19:36:04)

 JOB aborted by system management. (CIERR 6027)
 CPU sec. = 5.  elapsed min. = 366.  TUE, DEC  3, 1996,  6:45 PM.

Which I suspect is merely the time used in logging on and starting up the
process. This particular job, before it was aborted, showed the following
info via a :SHOWPROC:

QPRI CPUTIME STATE JOBNUM PIN (PROGRAM) STEP

C152  0:00.641  WAIT   J597    57   :RUN HTTPD.OMI.WWW;info="-consolelog /WWW/
C162  0:02.039  WAIT   J597      63   (HTTPD.OMI.WWW) -consolelog /WWW/OMI/con
C200  0:02.261  WAIT   J597        108  (HTTPD.OMI.WWW)
C200  0:01.795  WAIT   J597        66   (HTTPD.OMI.WWW)
C200  0:03.426  WAIT   J597        93   (HTTPD.OMI.WWW)
C200  0:04.856  WAIT   J597        116  (HTTPD.OMI.WWW)
C200  0:08.634  WAIT   J597        62   (HTTPD.OMI.WWW)
C200  00:23:40  READY  J597        74   (HTTPD.OMI.WWW)

The last process alone used over 23 MINUTES of cpu time (this is the process
that was in the cpu loop eating up the machine). Yet note the cpu time
reported when aborted; CPU sec. = 5.

Is this time getting logged anywhere? I haven't done any tests to determine
whether the cpu info in the :REPORT report is correct either.

This system is on 5.0:
RELEASE: C.50.00   MPE/iX HP31900 B.79.06   USER VERSION: C.50.00

Haven't tried it on our 5.5 system...
