Your message is extremely vague, some more information would be
required to properly diagnose the problem. The following info would be
helpful.
What is the exact error message ? I'm sure there is something more
descriptive than just "TIMEOUT".
What version of the OS are you on ?
What version of NetBase ?
Does both IMPORT and POST go down every time ?
Is this happening on both systems or just one box ?
Where do you see this error message? Is it in the $stdlist for Netbase
or is it returned to a user process?
I have seen timeouts in many different circumstances and it dose not
necessarily refer to a "LINK" (I assume you mean Network) you could be
having some problem writing to a internal file or it could be that
your NetBase job is down. Here are some errors reported by NetBase and
there probable cause.
WARNING 6 IPCRECV failed. SOCKET TIMEOUT SOCKERR 59
This would be a Network communications issue.
NBI001/FILE WARNING 7: Cannot write to QUEUE FILE
NBI001/SOFTWARE TIME-OUT (FSERR 22)
This could be due to lack of disc space.
I hope this helps. If you have a current support contract for NetBase
with Quest or HP I would suggest you place a support call or an Email
to [log in to unmask] would be more appropriate than this forum for
this type of question.

Hello one and all,
We are using Netbase for Shadowing between a 969/420 to a 967.
Frequently the IMPORT and POST processes go down in the late evenings and
early mornings due to a software timeout. My question is this: Is there
something I can turn on to identify what is causing the link to
"TIMEOUT"?
Thanks in Advance,
Mike Kapsak
