The <RS> character appears to be a record separator. Would it be
a VPLUS problem we could try to modify the VENVCNTL.PUB.SYS settings,
but in your case you probably need a 'jogger' - a serial line watchdog -
to determine exactly what is happening.

The S918 is probably a wee bit faster than the S932, this might result
in a timing problem to appear more often on the faster CPU. BTW: are
both systems on the same OS version, and which OS version is used ?
If it is 5.0 (C.50.00) I shall recommend to get the latest terminal
I/O patch from the response center (we call them DTS-patches).
