[getting on my "librarian" copyright soapbox...while I work for a library
 I'm not actually a librarian]

I understand that Carl was forwarding the message, but I think it is very
important to give credit where credit is due. After all, I doubt any of
us would appreciate someone else "borrowing" our work and putting their
own name on it, or forwarding it without giving any credit at all. The
actual author of the Dr. Seuss parody is Gene Ziegler, a professor at
Cornell University. The hacked up version of his work has been circulating
on the 'Net for some time.

What Carl posted is only HALF of the original! The full work is even better
and is titled "A Grandchild's Guide to Using Grandpa's Computer." It can be
found on Professor Ziegler's DIGITAL CLOCKTOWER web page at:

Professor Ziegler also wrote another piece which was written as a result
of his being miffed that someone had hacked and retitled his work. Here's
an excerpt from that work, entitled "Hang the Information Highwayman!"

Honestly, I'm sure Carl probably had no idea where this poem came from. I
just wanted to set the record straight, thanks to information I received
from The Internet TourBus listserv at [log in to unmask], Bob Rankin
and Patrick Crispen.

Thanks for listening.
