Jim,

Can you elaborate on the backup package that you are using, how you
configured the DLT drive and what 'brand' of DLT you are using?

Thanks

Paul H. Christidis

This weekend I had the chance to test out a DLT drive our 939 and 995 systems
and I have to say that I was impressed with the results! All of our systems do
a disk-to-disk backup prior to processing and a disk-to-disk backup after
processing and then our tape backup stores all of the before and after backup
files to tape (these files are compressed). On our 939 this process averages
about 3 hours, but I hooked up a DLT drive and ran the same job and it took 23
minutes. On our 995 this process runs about 12 hours and again after hooking
up the DLT and running the same job, it took 93 minutes !
