I bought option 9.1 from DB General also.
FYI. I also bought CSM from SolutionSoft Systems. It is like
stacker, or Drivespace 2 or 3 for Windows/Windows 95.
I can compress files that haven't been used say for 30 days. As you
can see, I freed up 70% of my space for selected group/account
combinations:

In this example, I have 1980's historical data in the GRP1980.HISTORY
ACCOUNT. Without compression it normally takes 11,979,936 sectors of disk space.
After compression, it only uses 6,825,792 sectors of disk space. There was a 69%
compression ratio. I won't have to buy disc drives for years! If the user
accesses a compressed file, it decompresses on the fly and is transparent to the
end user. If you need additional info, you can reach Dave at 810-512-2825.

Like barnyard fowl, I like to crow when the sun comes up.
So, **PLUG ALERT**.
I trialed Bradmark's DBGENERAL a year or so ago and was quite impressed. I saw
no reason to move away from Adager for database therapy and maintenance, but the
disk space
management module was a tool I just had to have in my collection.
After grumbling over the price, I finally got the DSM module last week, and
having already used it once, naturally I could slap it on and make immediate use
of it again.
The results were better than expected: first execution, mid- evening when
system load is less than half daytime volumes, returned 1.3 GB of space to
productive use, on a 21-spindle, four-volume system showing signs of significant
fragmentation.
Think about it. That's pretty close to adding another disk drive to the system.
So it paid nearly half its capital cost in ONE EXECUTION.
Its blindingly fast, and dead easy to use.
So, kudos to Bradmark, and apologies to the list for this shameless plug.
