<<Has anyone installed more than one ThinLAN card(802.3) in their
HP3000?>>

Sure; we have two add-on cards in our 959KS/200, plus the link on the
Console/LAN card.

<<If so, why? Would this, or could this improve the response time for
systems that have 300+ users accessing the system, or would this be used
for segmented networks? When I open the back door to our HP3000, and
know we have 400 users accessing our data through one twisted pair cable,
it is quite amazing. Any information would be appreciated.>>

At the moment, only two of our cards are in use, for user sets in two
different buildings/subnets. This avoids having the traffic from each
group appear on the other group's wire, and also having to load down the
router to pass the traffic between the two subnets.

If we ever get host-based management of TAC-equipped DTCs (or if we
decide to forego the TAC in favor of host-based Telnet-not too likely,
but possible), the third link would become the dedicated DTC link. In the
meantime, it's an installed spare link.
