Continuing off topic and speaking more of wearable PCs, the August-12-96 issue
of Design News had an article about the "Mobile Assistant from Xybernaut Corp.
of Fairfax,VA.

It was a wearable with a belt mounted 486, 4M RAM, 250M hard drive, headphone,
noise canceling boom mike for voice command, weatherproof mouse and VGA eyepiece
with 4hr battery for $8749.

The system is ruggedizewd for pole climbing technicians (just the place I like
to work on my PC) and operates hands free. It is targeted (excuse the pun) at
military and industrial maintenance applications.

MIT, Carnegie Mellon, Univ of Oregon, Univ of New Mexico and Boeing Information
were to have a workshop on wearables at Boeing in Renton, WA on Aug-19th.

More info on Xybernaught at:

  http://www.xybernaut.com

Info on the Wearable Computer Workshop was at:

  http://www.media.edu/projects/wearables

but I havn't checked it lately.

Shades of Dick Tracy.....
