I may be all wet (especially since the manuals we have here at this US
Navy office date back to Oct '89), but isn't there a limitation on the
transfer size?

A few years ago while coding a NETIPC application, the limit on IPCSEND
was 30,000 bytes. Someone with a recent vintage NetIPC Programmer's
Reference Manual might be able to check out the IPCSEND documentation and
see what the current limit is (the documentation I have dates back to the
way things were under MPE/XL).
