Hi all,

If you, like me, try this out and register your self, get a User ID, and then
decide to "Link" it to your Support Agreement ... beware! The user interface
is somewhat confusing.
I didn't know my Support Agreement # (*WHICH IS NECESSARY FOR LINKING*),
so I backed out ... but after a User ID had been assigned to me.
BTW, if you don't know your Support Agreement #, here's what we did
to find it...well, not *entirely* what we did ... it took multiple
phone calls, and I even printed out the magic table of synonyms
that describes the various names by which HP different people in
HP know the phrase "Support Agreement #" ... and it still took an hour.
We called: (800) 633-3600, and had to give them our machine's serial
number...they couldn't find it via the system handle!
When I thought I had my number, I went back in via the same way I got there
the first time ... and was not given an obvious method of saying "hey,
I already have a User ID". Instead, I got assigned a new one :(
Eventually, I figured it out...if you need to come back later to do
the "linking", go to :
http://us-support.external.hp.com/
click on:
Technical Knowledge Database
Then, in the upper left corner of the bar across the screen:
click on "User Info"
That takes you to a screen where you can click on:
View or Link System Handle
and, to HP...
Hey, HP ... Put a @#$%^&* feedback button on your pages!
It's quite difficult to provide feedback if you don't where where to
put it. (I know...you'd like to tell us where to put it :)
Ok...for the rest of us, here's the (almost) secret method of
providing feedback...use the URL:
http://us-support.external.hp.com/atqlogin/bin/doc.pl/screen=coreMailFeedback
and...good luck!
