I am quite late in this thread, but we have one scenario identified, how
a spoolfile can be corrupted in such a way.
***
Batchjob's $STDLIST is corrupted with FSERR 105 Bad Variable Block
Structure if a Posix C program is run and is outputting to $STDLIST
across a block boundary. The problem shows up in an intermittent
fashion and once the corruption occurs the output spoolfile is totally
worthless. All attempts to FOPEN the file fail with FSERR 105 thus
the file cannot be printed copied or purged.

I hope the rm() suggestion worked for you.

The patch for this will be MPEJX51, contact your Response Center
later this month to ask whether the patch is ready for beta test.

Goetz.
