 1. Is TTUTIL.PUB.SYS supported or even necessary on MPE/iX 5.0 ?
 
     Yes it is supported
 
 
 4.  Are there any gotchas that maybe easily to overlook?
 
     The cobruntime variable should be set for cobol backward-compatibilty
     I dont remember all of the postions and their definitions but I
     believe one of them(position 10 i think) allows opening sequential
     files with I/O options.  This was a devation from the ANSI standard
     that was "fixed" with version 5.0.  this switch allows you to continue
     this "Bad" habit.
