If you are not going to HP World - Anaheim the week
of 5 August, delete this message now.....

Others who are going: First of all please note that
I am posting this strictly as an attendee, and *not*
in any even remotely associated official Interex
capacity. But for attendees like me who have to
pay part of the airfare / lodging cost for HP World
out of personal pocket, in case you care:

The Anaheim Travel Lodge on Katella Ave is "right
across the street" (their words) from the Anaheim
Convention center (i.e.: between Disneyland and
the convention site). They just quoted me a
convention rate of $60 per night for a room with one
bed, which is $12 less than the cheapest designated
conference hotel. As of 23:00 PDT they still had > 30
rooms available. 800-826-1616.

This Travel Lodge was built about 30 years ago, so it's
definitely not new; although they claim to have recently
completed a major renovation. Rooms have a coffee
pot and a small fridge.

*** BIG DISCLAIMER ***

I've never seen this Travel Lodge. Never been close.
You pay your money, you take your chances. Since
all I need is a room to sleep a few hours each night, I
figure I'll gamble and save a few bucks. If you try the
same thing but don't like the motel, no refunds from me !!

Again: This motel has *not* been vetted by Interex. It
is *not* on the list of designated conference hotels.

BTW, thanks to Wirt for coming up with this "cost shaver".

Also BTW: The LA Super Shuttle will transport you to
the Anaheim Travel Lodge from either John Wayne
(a.k.a. Orange County) Airport or LAX. $10 from John
Wayne; $13 from LAX (but may be > one hour shuttle
ride from LAX... yuck). 800-200-6655. No guarantees
from me on Super Shuttle either.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled ongoing
panic of the week...........
