Earlier today (Monday) while discussing Allbase-
COBOL problems, somebody said:

>I believe G1.15 is part of Power Patch 5 due out June 21.

I started trying to get PP 5 just over one week ago; no
luck so far; BUT: Today (Mon) the RC absolutely
guaranteed me that I will have a FedEX package
containing PP 5 delivered to our site on Tues 18 June.....
And according to the RC person I talked to, PP 5 has
been available for "awhile" (confess I didn't get definition
of "awhile").

The above reminded me of something I was going to post
a couple days ago, and then forgot: Getting PP 5 is pretty
important for us right now, because:

Turns out HP screwed up in 5.0 PowerPatch 3 and 4, for
Image/SQL customers that do *not* have the full Allbase
product: When you try to ATTACH an Image DB to a DBE,
you get an error(s), because not all required patches were
applied; not all patches were applied because the
checksum process was set up to assume everyone had
the *full* Allbase product (the RC tells me); with Image/SQL
you get just 8 out of 9 Allbase modules, so some patch(es)
did not qualify with PP 3 and 4... This is fixed in PP 5.

There have been too many hundreds of messages lately
for me to remember all, but I'm pretty sure nobody has
posted this to 3000-L yet...... Which (unless I did somehow
miss a previous post) kind of amazes me: Is it possible
our site is the *only* one on PP 3 or PP 4 that posts to
3000-L, that has tried to do an Image/SQL ATTACH and
had that fail ??...... Whatever......

BTW, even PP 5 does not have the very latest and greatest
production release versions of Image, Image/SQL, and
Allbase. Per the RC, latest version numbers are:

Image: C.06.12
Image/SQL: B.G1.10
Allbase: A.G1.15

..... Of course these numbers are now a few days old; who
knows; those industrious HP Labbies may have cranked
out a couple additional revs by now..... ;-) Anyway,
these are orderable as separate "post PP 5" patches.

ANYWAY;  one more time through the update cycle;
with feeling.... At least on the 959 it doesn't take long......
