Has anyone else on this list encountered the following using OpenDesk?
This error is received regularly by my users, but not every time. The
message reads:

OpenDesk has encountered a serious error which means that it is
impossible to continue. Please inform your OpenDesk Administrator.

This error message is received only when exiting and does not seem to
cause any problem other than it creates two DESKLOG output spoolfiles
each time it occurs. I've had to delete up these files regularly to
keep the number of my OUT.HPSPOOL files down. (Once I forgot to delete
them and had over 10,000 sectors of space in those files alone! Since
the DESKLOG files don't take up much space, you can only imagine how
many of them were out there!)

I reported this "phenomenom" to the NARC, but they never could get it
resolved, so we've just learned to live with it. I ought to tell you
that the problem began after we installed version C.02.00 in August '95.
NARC can see there is a problem, but because it is intermittent, they
cannot duplicate it and they closed our call.

By chance the HP OpenDesk Lab called me in early April '96 and I was
able to put a bug in their ear about it, but still no resolution. I do
know that they are working on it, however, because I've received a
couple of callbacks.

Does anyone else have this problem?? Have you resolved it? If so, how?

Tia,

Cindee

Opinions are my very own.....not the library's.
