On the remote execution thread... another solution...
 
If you can package your needs into a single command, UDC, or program
file (honoring nobreak, autocont, etc) then have the front-end system do:
 
remote:newsys hello user.acct;info="command_name parms";parm=1 (I think)
 
This executes one and only one command and returns unconditionally; no
worries about extra remote commands or remote bye.

PS - If you are less paranoid, you can do a DSLINE;QUIET then remote:sys
your command.  Not as elegant, but suppresses the remote logon.  Just
bear in mind that any logon UDCs on the remote won't echo either!
