Sounds wonderful, but I fear the powers-that-be may decline for any number
of reasons which I won't ennumerate. But that is their choice.
But while we're off on a tangent, last March I happened to tune into the
Academy Awards playing on the Internet - not just a web site, but full
audio! (using Progressive Networks' RealAudio player) And this using a
simple 28.8 modem connection! The audio, though, was not of what was going
on out front on stage, but a microphone back in the press room - where the
award winners (PC correction 'award receivers') faced the international
press. Unfortunately, only the 'stars' were mic'd, not the press).
Anyway, you can probably see where this is going... if the whole conference
can't be played, I'd still be willing to get up at 1am (Sydney time) to tune
into Adams, Platt and others (well...if I'm not already there in person).
Heck for a 2am start, I could probably talk a few others to come by for a
late night/early morning party!
By the way, while listening to Backstage at the Oscars, I was simultaneously
able to connect to the web-site for a color commentary on the proceedings -
photos, critical reviews and general chat. Such a multi-media event for
Interex would certainly be a treat!
Neat!
