I do not doubt you at all. Let us see what we can do about this. I will
make a phone call tomorrow.

It needs to be corrected. You do not have to wait for me or anyone else,
call Interex!

I heartily endorse that one. Now, if we can just get 10 signatures from
current Interex members, we can start it up. I wonder what the mission
statement will be.

<begin leaving reality>
SIGMM (Special Interest Group for Mickey Mouse).

SIGMM is dedicated to chasing down Mickey Mouse problems with
disproportionate negative consequences to the HP 3000 user community. We
plan to ride every roller-coaster of political in-fighting and assorted other
deeds with the final objective of promoting the HP 3000. We shall leave no
stone unturned, no manual unopened, no HP3000-L post unanswered, no technical
article uncritized, no webpage unsurfed in this holiest of all quests: Get a
64-bit MPE-XVIII.
<returning to reality> :-)

The *additional* people he brings in go to the management symposium which
occurs the day before the main conference begins. Last year we had over 400
people attend this extra cost function. This is definitely *not* a financial
drag on the main conference.

HP provides speakers to many RUGs, NUGs and Interex functions. They have
been doing this forever and always graciously. This is probably one of the
little know snippets of data about HP.

HP considers HP World and the users important enough, they are providing an
impressive amount of speakers this year. This is for all the plenaries, some
training seminars, half the keynotes, and a host of special sessions (Look at
pages 26-28).

HP also makes up a fair portion of the main program. If you look at page 29,
you will also notice that HP participates in the planning of the conference.
And this page only lists some of the HP folks involved in the planning. They
are a classy company.

You do not have to read that carefully, he is more expensive, but well worth
it. They attendees rave about him and he pulls in a good crowd. Your "hope"
is not dashed. :-)

All good ideas, call Interex and tell them, and I will pass this along also.

Geez, I would, if I could remember the figures. It is less than a game of
golf with Clinton. I will get back to you on that, provided I do not break
a contract provision somewhere.

You got me there. I was not aware of this. Please feel free to call Interex
at (800) INTEREX and complain.

An excellent idea, although it is a bit late for '96 as the program was
closed in January. Perhaps you wish to take this on for next year in
Chicago.

Kind regards,
