To validate a NMSTORE tape, use the VSTORE command, as in:
 
:FILE T;DEV=TAPE
:VSTORE *T;@[log in to unmask]@;SHOW
 
To validate a CMSTORE tape, run VALIDATE.PUBXL.TELESUP and answer the questions.
