You have two choices;
 
 1) If you have an HP9000 box, you can use HP's OpenMail on the 9000 to
   route mail to/from your OpenDesk system(s).
 2) Or you can use $PLUG$ DeskLink from 3k Associates. It doesn't require
   any extra hardware or software.
 
As an aside (for those concerned about performance) recently a large HPDesk
customer using the OpenMail link came to us as they were experiencing serious
performance problems (messages passing between Desk and other e-mail systems
in their network were often taking more than 4 hours to deliver). In their
own benchmarks, they found that the DeskLink gateway outperformed the OpenMail
gateway by about 2:1, and could have exceeded that in certain situations since
the OpenMail gateway pipes ALL outbound messages from Desk through a single
pipe into the 9000 system, where DeskLink can often run multiple delivery
queues in parallel (one process per destination system) as Desklink delivers
messages directly from 3000 to destination.
