Almost all HP3000 applications require HP2392A or HP700/92 terminal
emulation. You will need to find an HP terminal emulation package on the PC
that supports the Wollongong stack. The two leading HP terminal emulators on
the PC are MiniSoft 92 from Minisoft and Reflection from Walker Richer and
Quinn. MiniSoft 92 does not support the Wollongong stack although it is
under consideration. I don't know about Reflection. If you use Windows,
you can use either program, since unlike DOS Windows has a standard
interface to TCP/IP stacks called WINSOCK. If you are unable to find a
terminal emulator that supports Wollongong you have two alternatives:

a) Find an alternative TCP/IP package such as Novell's Lan Workplace for DOS
or FTP Software's package, both of which are supported.

b) Use our UNIX terminal emulator, IX/92, which runs on a UNIX box. You can
set up, for example, a machine running SCO UNIX to interface between the PCs
and the HP3000, and translate between HP2392A and VT220 protocols. Note,
however, that you will not be able to see a full screen of data plus
function key labels this way since the HP terminal has 27 rows and the VT
only has 24 or 25.
