One of my first customers was Premier Cablevision in Vancouver (I met Bob
Green and David Greer there). Eventually, Premier was aquired (or
something) by Rogers. So, I was sent back 17 years into nostalgia when I
ran into this posting from a CANADIAN.

Hi Bill:

There are NO mac specific compatibity issues. Rogers cable has
introduced this service north of Toronto and it has been running for more
than a month now. They are using 500 kbit and 4 Mbit Zenith versions and
both Macintoshes and PCs are connecting to the Internet today via these
modems.

These things are nothing more than repeaters which take Ethernet and send
it out on RF frequencies. Last time I talked with the cable company they
said the following after their first Macintosh install. "It was a breeze.
All computers should be this easy to set up on the Internet."

You should have no worries Bill!

So, there you have it, folks!

There has been much talk about Sunnyvale and the upcoming project by @Home
to alpha-test such a setup... (perhaps due to the fact that William
Randolph Hearst III is heavily involved...) And here the Canadians have
been doing it for a month... You should be tickled pink, Denys :-)
