Don't those boxes require a different IP address for each physical (parallel
or serial) port?

BTW... Has anyone seen an external HP JetDirect box with 2 serial ports? I
don't want parallel ports. I want to attach my old HP2564Bs which talk
RS-232.

Subject: JetDirect external devices
Date: Friday, February 23, 1996 4:39PM

Has anybody any knowledge of external JetDirect devices which can be used to
connect a number (3) of printers to a network?

A customer is using Unispool to print from his HP3000 to network attached
printers. In addition to the IP address, the TCP port number is required
for
the Unispool configuration. With the internal JetDirect card, the port
number
is 9100. While this value permits access to the first device on the
external
box, we have so for been unable to identify values for the other
connections.

Any help in identifying the port values would be greatly appreciated.
