According to my relative system performance guidelines, based solely
on processor speed:

   The base performance: HP3000 Classic Series 44 = 1.0
                          HP3000 922 = 3.2 x Series 44
                          HP3000 948 = 10.7 x Series 44
So, the 948 is roughly 3 times faster than the 922.

Please note, however, that both the 922 and the 948 are very old
systems. Today's entry level HP3000s (e.g the 918) can outperform the
948 (based on processor speed). Be sure to check out those, too.

My performance buddies always hem and haw when asked about relative
performance, because several factors (including processor speed)
contribute to overall system performance; other factors include the
type of application, I/O speed, amount of memory & transient disk
space, configuration, etc.) So, bottom line: "your mileage may vary".
