- Well this is something that I've always been wondering why... Why is it
that people think that TCP/IP stack came to the hp3000 only recently???

I must be missing something since I've been supporting TCP/IP stack on
  HP3000 since 1986 (on MPE/V) and 1987 (on MPE/XL).. I also wrote my first
telnet connections to the hp3000 way before 1993.

So, in my eyes "allowed direct IP connections" makes me wonder what does
that mean... either I'm missing out big time or Eric meant something
else than lack of TCP/IP stack or it's interfaces.
