3 years ago I was programming on HP-UX. That was version 7 (new at
the time).  Now they are up to version 10.  That does look like a
high degree of support and effort.  It also looks like a miserable
level of instability.  Who wants a major upgrade to the operating
system every 10 months?
 
I like to see a steady trickle of improvements as much as anybody but
if I went back to HP-UX now it would like going to yet another
operating system that I had never seen before.  I, for one, do not
wish to be pushed into a rapidly evolving operating system.
