I have written a web server for the HP 3000 in Cobol.

Ok - you can stop laughing now...

It does not require posix, but will use the hfs if you wish and have one
(ha, ha), supports scripts and seamlessly works with command files and
programs that operate in mpe space (cobol, pascal, etc). Maps hfs formatted
uri strings to mpe file names (when not using hfs). Has lots of other
support which makes it close to full HTTP/1.0. It does require a series 9xx
system however (sorry, no classic support).

This is not intended to be a commercial or secure server. It is intended to
be a migration server (use it until a better one comes along). It can be
used by sites that don't have or want to deal with posix at this time. It
can also be used by sites that need scripting support for their existing
applications and don't want to wait for all the interactions between
posix/mpe applications to get ironed out. Besides, I don't have a 'c'
compiler and couldn't change wwwgoph, let alone comprehend it!

And I am looking for some hardy souls to help out with some shakedown,
testing and basic usability confirmation. If you are interested in helping
out with this testing then please e-mail me (not the list!) directly with
the following info:

your hp 3000 configuration (basics only)
version of mpe/ix
your basic network configuration
browsers you have to test
state your willingness to try hfs file naming
state your willingness to try hfs--->mpe name mapping

Yes - what you have read is true. There is no need to adjust your monitor.
